Look at your shoes, Look at someone else’s, Look up.

CBU Camp. Best 2 days of this summer.

Okay, so I have finally gotten around to writing this. Sorry for the delay.

How do I start? Well first off, camp was AMAZING. Met some pretty crazy girls that I am honored to call friends.

First thing we did was the whole stretching, running thing that EVERYONE does. Then we got split into groups according to grades and we went to individual hitting stations. Our group hit first off of Mel, who was CBU’s pitcher last year. Of course she wasn’t throwing full speed, but it was still good. I hit pretty decent considering the slump I have been it. (I guess, hitting a ball of the fence is good ha!)

Next station we went to was shagging. Nothing to interesting about this except that Laurie, A FRESHMAN hit a BOMB, that almost left the park. Pretty crazy stuff.

Now onto my favorite station. Bunting and wiffles. Not too exciting, but it was fun. Caty made is 100% better, because bunting and hitting wiffles aren’t the funnest things to do. But it was pretty awesome watching Caty pitch bunts to us. Considering she is the catcher for CBU :)

Once every one was done with all the stuff in our station we got to play a few games. First we played “Bounce the ball on the bat and whoever does it the longest, Wins” No further explanation needed. Lets just say, I sucked it at this game. (I think the most bounces I got was like 2 or something) Next, we played “Look at your shoes, Look at someone else’s, Look up.” (I don’t know if there is a name for this game, but whatever) Again it explains itself. But if you look up and you are looking at someone, who is looking at you (because you both looked at each other’s shoes) then you were out. It got pretty heated between Caty, Bri and Andy. (Considering they are pro’s at this game).

Next, we taught the Oregonian (Caty) how us Californians play Ninja :) Me, Grace and Prevo got into a pretty intense game of Ninja. (We finally just called it a tie) But the best game was Pterodactyl. The object of this game is to say Pterodactyl without showing your teeth. It was pretty hilarious watching Caty and Prevo go after it haha. Turned out to be a good laugh.

Our last station was Cages. Nothing exciting, just normal cages that we do at every practice. Just gotta remember, repitition is what makes up better.

Lunch was deffinetly awesome. We ate in the CBU locker room. And we ended up watching “Camp Rock” for the time we were in there. It was hilarious because all we did was make fun of how cheesy that movie really was and listen to Caty and Andy, sing all the songs :)

After lunch we split up into 2 teams and schrimaged. It was really fun. It was crazy. It was Grace, Prevo, Laurie, Morgan, Kelly and the girl Morgan called “The Beast” on our side of the field. (Plus, like a bunch of other girls and Caty) We ended up losing, but we learned alot. Learned that Prevo, isn’t her real name (haha) and learned that Caty is obsessed with Friends. (So, Morgan, Kelly and I started calling her Jaanniiccee) It was a nice way to end the day.

Day 2:

Same start. Running, stretching. But today we conditioned. It was hot but not the hot I am used to.

Today was defense. Took alot of ground balls which was really nice and fun. Defense is my favorite.

Then we played gamers, which is you hit until you get out. We ended up getting 3rd. Behind teams 1 and 2, but ahead of the CBU girls, only because 95% of us girls were out in the outfield catching all the balls that didn’t leave the park!

Lunch was just as good as the day before, just a little more relaxing.

We then schrimaged again. Same girls, Same coaches, Same Caty calling balls and strikes, just a different side of the dugout.

We were down a couple runs. “Beast” gets up to the plate. (As Morgan called her) Morgan on deck. Morgan said from Monday on that if Beast hit a homerun, she was just going to bunt because there was no was she was going to follow that, being the next batter. Well, what do you know. 1st pitch, Homerun down the left field line... But FOUL! All of us girls were practically out of the dugout by the time it was foul haha. Next pitch. She just graciously decides to drop a BOMB. and boy do I mean a BOMB. Straight away center. We are excited, screaming and now on top of the scoreboard!! Thank you very much. And by the way, Morgan didn’t bunt considering there was 2 outs. (but she probably could of, considering everyone was playing deeeeep).

We ended up winning.

But the best thing about the 2 days, was just how we interacted with each other. Mostly nobody new each other, but we all became friends. The funniest thing was Morgan and Kelly. They didn’t know each other before camp. But you wouldn’t know that considering how open they were to each other. They were just hilarious. If you didn’t know Morgan is from Vegas and Kelly is from Sonora, you wouldn’t even know they were complete strangers. :)

Overall, it was a blast. And I can’t wait to get back down to CBU in the fall for a campus visit and stay/ workout with the team. 100% excited, minus the conditioning and 5:30 weight lifting sessions but it is what it is.
And one more thing. If you think your college campus is beautiful. You might want to go check out CBU’s. I think it tops ‘em all. :)

Love always,

2 days of softball. The next 2 da.ys to come

What else would I rather do, than play softball for 4 days straight? The answer? Absolutely Nothing haha :)

These past 4 days have been absolutely AMAZING.

Saturday we played the Porterville Magic (yes, AGAIN). Honestly, I am sooo sick of playing them. But anyways, we started off well and we were up 5-1 at the bottom of the 7th. We made some crucial defensive errors (including me) that allowed them to tie it up 5-5. We got 2 outs with a runner on third. Which in my opinion was thier best player. She tried to delay steal, but was called out. We got SUPER lucky, because she was probably safe. But the umpire ruled otherwise (which is nice sometimes). The first base coach went absolutely BALISTIC and went off the wall!! He was in the umpires face and cussing up a storm. And meanwhile we had already cheered and were ready to shake hands. But they werent haha. Their player was still sitting on home plate! The call was never overturned which meant we tied :) Very interesting end to that game.

Next we played the Dinuba tribes. Nothing to exciting in this game, except that we won 8-2.

Then we had to play Cal Stars. Which was the team that Coach Tammy was coaching, in which she took Tiffany to play with them, instead of us. But whatever. We won. 2-0. and I even caught Jackie, and I threw out Tiff trying to steal haha. And Jackie struck her out too.

Team party was pretty bomb.com. I was really looking forward to Sunday even though we had to play at 8, which meant I had to leave the house at 6:30. We got to wear yellow ribbons in our hair (for childhood cancer) and we put 8 on everyone’s arm, for Noey. It was awesome :)

Sunday was just SO FUN!!

We ended up the 4 seed even though we went 2-0-1. But it worked out for the better.

We played the 5 seed which was the Bakersfield Heat Wave. Honestly, I was a little intimidated. They were well put together and all. But that doesn’t mean anything to me anymore haha. Jessie knocked thier pitcher out of the game, literally, with a line drive to the girl’s knee (ouch). And we just tee-ed off the other girl they brought in. It was pretty awesome. Even considering it was like 100 degrees at 8 am. (YUCK)!!!

We ended up winning, which meant we didnt play till 12:30 and we had to play the number 1 seed... Again. I was proven wrong, about the whole intimidation thing. haha.

This game was just undescribable.

It all started with the 1st pitch. Jessie hit a line drive to the 3rd baseman, who barely caught it (she had to jump pretty high and still barely caught it) Then Darin saw that she had a first baseman’s glove on. (Which is illegal)

So, anyways, the umpires gathered and called Jessie safe. And on top of that the girl had to get another glove.

That SOOO pissed off their coach. He flew out of the dugout screaming things and arguing. He then wanted to protest. REMEBER, IT IS THE 1ST PITCH!!!
But we didn’t worry about him. We played our game and we played AWESOME. We killed them :)

Then, guess who was waiting for us at the Championship game? Yep, the stupid Porterville Magic.

Kayla and I did something different this game. We went up to the lefty batters box and we drew “Noey 8” in the dirt. We knew she was there with us, even if she wasn’t there in person. It felt right.

Anyways, we played a tough game and it was tied 1-1 up until the last inning. In the top of whatever inning it was we scored 2 runs!!! So then it was 3-1 in the bottom of the same/last inning. We got 1 out easily. Then the little shortstop got up to the plate. She was the hardest out of the whole game. But in the end Jackie struck her out (which was the best part). Then the next girl gets up and hits a homer. (Greeeaaattt) So, know its 3-2 with 2 outs. Next girl was 0-fer all day and I felt confident we were going to do okay. 1 strike. 2 strikes. Wow. What next? She swings and misses. Best sight EVER!!! Then we just went crazy!!!

CBU camp is going to have to wait. This blog is already long, and I have SOOO much to talk about.

Oh, and I got to give a shout out to one of the best people I have ever met. This is for you Dannyell. Who I recently got started on blogspot. I love that girl. :) See you when I get home :)

Love Always,

The Past is the past, and it needs to stay there.

WOW.

How do I even begin to explain this week? I’m sitting here with my puppy, in the dark at 1 am, recollecting this crazy, emotional week. I wish I could say, “This was a great week and I had a awesome time” But I cant. Lets just start with Sunday.

Sunday:
I was hoping for a great Sunday morning at church, just like all the other Sunday mornings I have at church (At least when I am not at a softball tournament).

But that is NOT what I got.

At least, it started off wonderful. I got to watch my 2 FAVORITE little boys in the WHOLE world, Blake and Troy, for those of you who don’t know. They are absolutely fantastic. They are 3 and 1. They always make me smile, even when I am fighting back tears. They don’t judge me, and yes I do know they are only 3 and 1. But still, they don’t remind me of every mistake I’ve ever made. They are just so innocent (Well, most of the time. haha) And I love them, and they LOVE me. Which always makes a person feel good :)

After 2nd service things started to go downhill. I thought it was just going to be Beka and I going to 3rd service together, but once again, I was wrong. The boys were there too. But whatever, I don’t care. I just miss “our” time. It is never just me and Beka anymore. We never have time to just hang out, just us 2 girls to talk. But thats what I get for switching schools.

Whatever.

Sunday night was good. It was my Grandma and Grandpa’s 55th Anniversary. It was nice to see them and the family. But it was hard to know what my Grandma has gone through and that she may not be here for to much longer. Just hurts to know. You know? I didn’t fall asleep till WAY late (or early, if you want to be all technical) but that is just me, I guess, I don’t sleep very well. So then on Monday I woke up exhausted and I had BP and volleyball, UGGHH!

Monday:
Monday was interesting. I woke up at like 11:15 and I had BP (which is Batting Practice, or “Hitting” to all the little girls he has) at 11:30. So I got ready in like 3 minutes flat. And for BP it was “Back to Basics Day” Let me just say this, THESE DAYS SUCK! Back to basics Days consist of ALL tee work, soft toss and live pitching. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE live pitching, but I also LOVE the machine just as well. Then I was hit by a pitch in the arm (thanks Rusty) and now I have this huge purple and brown bruise on my arm that hurts every time I move my arm.

Gross, I know.

And to make things worse. It was like 103 degrees outside. And this is why I HATE California.

Volleyball was just rough, in itself. I couldn’t pass. Or do anything right! It just flat out sucked. Worst 2 hours ever in that 90 degree gym.

Tuesday:
Tuesday morning was WONDERFUL! I got to babysit Baby Andrew for a few hours but it was still sooooo hot outside. That’s good ole’ California for you. Then tuesday night rolled around.

Worst night of the week so far.

We got an e-mail about one of my teammates on my 16U softball travel team. (who is also one of my best friends EVER) In the subject box was her name, which kind of confused me.

I opened the e-mail and began to read.

What I began to read absolutely broke my heart. It read somewhere along the lines of this... On tuesday Noey was diagnosed with Leukemia.

What?! Not the Noey I know. Not the one who runs like 50 miles per hour. Not the girl who is always kind and always unselfish. No not her. I can’t even imagine what she has to go through. But what makes me feel better is her positive spirit. She knows God has got her back. And she knows its all going to be better in the long run. Thats a girl. She is my inspiration. :)

Wednesday was nothing special.

Thursday:
More bad news. Grandma is back in the hospital.

You know? For how much I have been in the hospital because my family and friends are in the hospital is crazy!! I just flat out hate them.

They don’t know exactly what is wrong with her, just yet. But she was having bad pain in her back and hip. So whatever that means or leads to, I have no idea.

But what is SUPER gross, is like 2 weeks ago she had one of her pins in her foot (from her car accident about 6 years ago) come loose and cause and infection in her foot!! YUCKY!!

And now I am to Friday morning. Im hoping and praying to fall asleep at a decent time tonight. Maybe before 3. But who knows. I have a long day of cleaning ahead of me, getting all ready for the team party here on saturday. Just what I wanted.
Sorry this blog is so long. I just needed to get things out. Thanks for reading :)

Love always,

Baby Becca :)

P.S. Noey, I LOVE you. And all us velocity girls miss you SOOOOO much!!! (especially me) I miss having you behind me in centerfield knowing you are going to catch all the balls hit to you. (No matter if it is a pop up that I should of caught or a BOMB over your head where you have to literally RUN through the fence!) Which was TOTALLY sweet that you did that last tournament :) You just got up like it was no big deal. Like the Champion you are. We are sure missing you girly. And we all want to see you better and see you soon. Love you, 8.

Missing you...

"When I text you, It means I'm missing you...
When I don't, it means I'm wanting and waiting for you to miss me...."

Very, very, very true statement.
I feel this way EVERYDAY....

and btw this is about one particular person, and I hope they will realize that soon...

These past days...

Bad or good news first?

Lets go with the BAD...

-Why is it when I needed her the most, she wasn't there? Not even a "Hey I'm busy can we talk later?" BUT NOTHING?? What is it with people? I think of them as best friends, maybe it should be "acquaintance". A BEST FRIEND is there when you need them, an ACQUAINTANCE is there when it's convenient for them. Yep, you are now an ACQUAINTANCE. Well, maybe not. I dont think I can let her go like that... Lets just say its close to being over FOREVER. Should I give her what she wants and just end it? OR keep on going like the way its been for almost a year?

-One more bad thing that happened this week. I found out monday that our number one pitcher is done. Done for the season. We pretty much survived on her. But its ok. Everyone is still positive, at least for now. But the thing is.. well... I dont know. Its almost like varsity. If they lost Sierra, there goes WYL AND valley. But we are going to get over this hump, just like we did when Bates got pulled up to varsity. We stepped up and did what we had to do. Let's just hope we can do it again. Lets just say yesterday was filled with lots of tears...

One the good note:

-My birthday was better than I expected it to be. Even though we lost and beka and haylee were gone, it was ok. We played a tough game against lemoore and fought, fought hard. Considering they were all juinors. My mommy brought me a crown and necklace at lunch and even brought ballons to the game. It was semi-embarrasing but I got over it and played my heart out. (and played a little nasty too :) ha) I had some delicious cupcakes from Kaity too! And I got some pretty awesome presents too. Thank you mommy and daddy for my new MACBOOK. Which should be here thursday!!! But overall it was a good day. But I definitely missed my best friends. But I knew they were having a good time and I didnt want to distract them for that. I made it through the week without seeing them. and I'm proud of myself for that :)

Baby Becca.

Birthday Wishes....

The 2 people I wanted to spend my 16th birthday with will be gone on thee day. Thee day I turn 16 will be spent without my 2 best friends. You ask where they will be? Mexico. On a missions trip. I've never looked forward to such a day to get to spend time with my best friends.... and now they will be hundreds of miles away. I was looking forward to the softball game on April 13th, (Birthday!) and seeing them in the stands with signs saying happy birthday! and seeing them cheer me on...

Well i guess a girl has her dreams... and mine... they just got crushed.
